Conference to boost Tay Nguyen’s agricultural products trade connection between Vietnam and Korea

A conference on trade connection which focused on Tay Nguyen’s agricultural and food products was co-organized in Jeollanam-do (Korea) on 13th October by Dak Lak’s Department of Industry and Trade, Gwangju Firm Association and Jeollanam-do provincial authority.

This conference has a crucial meaning in implementing a comprehensive economic operation between the two countries’s high-ranking authorities, aiming to boost commercial relationship as well as the import and export activities between Dak Lak Province and Jeollanam-do in 2023 and the years to come.
This conference offers a great opportunity for enterprises to meet, connect and extend the market for products consumption and promote Vietnam’s agricultural products to Korean consumers within the framework of national trade promotion in the year 2023.
The conference has the participation of Mr Luu Van Khoi – Director of the Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade, Mr Huynh Van Dung – Chairman of the Dak Lak Enterprises Association, Mr Gang So Myeong – Representative of Gwangju City, Mr Nguyen Viet Phong – Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in GwangJu city, representatives from Gwanju Province and Jeollanam-do. Joining the delegation with the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak province were 20 typical businesses producing and doing business in the two provinces of Dak Lak and Dak Nong, 60 representatives from Korean's enterprises....

Mr Luu Van Khoi delivered a speech at the conference, expressing his pride and great pleasure to organise this conference in Korea, he said that the purpose of the trip is to promote trade and seek output for products and businesses in the Industry and Trade sector of Dak Lak province within Korean market. Dak Lak province has a great potentiality in exporting agricultural products with US $1,59 billion recorded in 2022, and in the first 9 months of 2023, Dak Lak 's export turnover has reached US $ 1,11 billion, being the pioneer province in Viet Nam to export coffee and some others agricultural products. Meanwhile, the export turnover to Korea market remains modest in value, reaching around US $15 million.
Mr Khoi also stated that, the two provinces have a lot of ressources to build up a future's economic relationship in terms of trade, i.e agricultural products and food. He hopes to receive support from experts in the field of deep processing systems for agricultural products and thus, explore the potentiality and the use of clean energy sources such as wind, solar..
Thanks to the conference, the Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade also seeks the support from Gwangju and Jeollanam do in terms of information exchange, as enterprises from Dak Lak wish to learn more about the market aiming to create the chance to export products to Korea. 
Mr Gang So Myeon - Gwangju City's representative told participants that this is an important sign for the two parties to expand the relationship in many fields in the near future. He highly appriciates the organization of the conference in Korea and hope enterprises have more chance to meet for a sustainable and long-term relationship. 
During the conference, Tay Nguyen's enterprises also display their products, such as coffee, cocoa, dried and fresh banana, pepper, macadamia, durian....
11 MOU was signed, among them are the agreement to coopereate in machines and other industrial infrastructure investment from Korean firms in order to improve the production capacity for Viet Nam's firms in the next period.
